Agatha Christie stayed at the hotel for 3 weeks in the 1930s, and despite a varied and interesting past the hotel is decked out like a murder mystery weekend in her honour (no suspicious deaths while we were there although Julie was very ill after the dinner and dancing on the Saturday!)
